The elevator rose swiftly up past several floors and came to a stop at the top floor of the skyscraper, where the doors slid open and a man stepped out into a lavish penthouse. He strode across the marble floor and came to a closed door. He knocked on the door and waited.
“Come in,” a deep voice called. The man went in and stopped at a desk near a window that gave a sweeping view of Manhattan. Behind the desk was a large luxurious chair, and in the chair was billionaire Chance Bennett. Chance wore tailored suits and diamond cufflinks, his sandy brown hair was styled andbed to perfection, his sky blue eyes were lined with thick dark lashes and his dimpled, charming smile revealed perfect white teeth. He looked up and waved at the man standing before the desk.
“Rick! Good morning. Have a seat.” He indicated one of the chairs in front of the desk. Rick sat down.
“Good morning, Sir. How was the wedding?”
“It was beautiful. That’s what I wanted to talk with you about, Rick. David and I were the toast of the town not so long ago.
